TOPBUXUS Dipel® DF Jardin is a biological insecticide based on the Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. Kurstaki,
Dosage:
Dissolve 1 sachet (2.5 grams) of TOPBUXUS Dipel® DF Jardin in 2.5 Liters of water, the solution obtained is sufficient to treat 25m2 of Boxwood.
Spray the plants completely with the mixture as soon as caterpillars or caterpillars are detected. In case of a large infestation or high rainfall, repeat the treatment. Treatment preferably only at an outside temperature above 15 degrees Celsius. Within a few hours after treatment, the voracious caterpillars stop eating. After 3-5 days they die and fall off the plant.
The caterpillars eat the leaves treated with TOPBUXUS Dipel® DF Jardin. Through enzymatic breakdown in the caterpillar's stomach, the protein crystals of Bacillus Thuringiensis are broken down into toxins. These toxins bind to and pierce receptors on the intestinal wall. The caterpillar is completely affected and eventually dies. Although it may take several days for the caterpillar to die, TOPBUXUS Dipel® DF Jardin is very efficient and effective. 1 to 2 hours after the caterpillar absorbs TOPBUXUS Dipel® DF J ardin, the caterpillar infestation and thus the damage to the Boxwood stops. Note that the caterpillars die only after they have eaten from the treated leaf. Sometimes the caterpillars do not start eating immediately, so these will not die immediately but also do not cause damage yet.
TOPBUXUS Dipel® DF Jardin is a biological agent that is not harmful to humans and the environment. Even the natural enemies of the caterpillar such as ichneumon wasps, flies, bees and mites are not affected by the agent.
Apply at a temperature from 15° C As a rule, a second treatment is carried out between 1 and 2 weeks later to permanently stop the caterpillar infestation. Can be used in combination with TOPBUXUS Health-Mix to tackle both Boxwood Caterpillar and Boxwood Blight in 1 treatment.
