TOPBUXUS Moth trap - Incl. Attractants for 1 Full Season

€29,90
Monitor Box Tree Moth activity

By monitoring the activity of the Boxwood Moth using the TOPBUXUS Moth trap, you can predict when new Boxwood caterpillars will hatch in your Boxwood. This way you can easily determine the right moment to carry out a biological treatment against these caterpillars with TOPBUXUS Anti Rups® / XenTari®

Includes attractants for 1 season

Included with the trap are 2 capsules of pheromones (attractants). Each capsule has an efficacy of approximately 10-12 weeks after application. In the 3rd week of May, place 1 capsule in the basket in the lid of your moth trap and place the trap in your garden near your Boxwood. Store the other capsule in the refrigerator or freezer. In the last week of July, refresh the pheromone by using the 2nd capsule. This allows you to effectively monitor Boxwood Moth activity for an entire season with only 2 capsules per trap.

CAUTION: Do not open pheromone capsule!

The pheromone is embedded in the special capsule, which is slightly porous, allowing controlled release of the pheromone over a period of about 8 weeks. When the cap is removed, the pheromone is released too quickly, shortening the effect.

Range of 200 square metres

The pheromone in the moth trap attracts male Boxwood moths in an area of up to 200 square metres.

NOTE - Treatment with TOPBUXUS Anti Rups® /Xentari® remains necessary.

The season starts with Buxus caterpillars that have hibernated in the Boxwood. You can control these caterpillars biologically with TOPBUXUS Anti Rups® /XenTari®.
The first Buxus moths will only appear AFTER the first wave of caterpillars. The moth trap is only intended to monitor the activity of the Buxus moth, it is not possible to prevent a moth infestation with this.

Description

Directions for use:
Assemble the moth trap according to the instructions on the box. Note: You only use one capsule of attractant at a time! Store the other capsule in the refrigerator or freezer. At the beginning of the season (3rd week of May) place 1 pheromone capsule in the basket in the lid of the moth trap. After this you hang the moth trap in your garden near your Boxwood. Halfway through the season (last week of July) the first pheromone has expired, you now replace the old capsule with the fresh capsule that you have stored in the refrigerator or freezer. In this way, you can monitor the Boxwood moth for a whole season, allowing you to easily determine the right moment to perform and biological control with TOPBUXUS Anti Rups® (or TOPBUXUS XenTari®).

Box moths monitoring:
The male moths are attracted by the pheromone and are caught in the trap. 2 weeks after the first sighting of moths in the trap, it is recommended to perform a biological treatment against Boxwood caterpillars with TOPBUXUS Anti Rups® (or TOPBUXUS XenTari®).
This way you can control the Boxwood Caterpillar in a simple, effective and environmentally friendly way.

Safe for birds and bees:
With their very specific action and natural origin, TOPBUXUS pheromones and are TOPBUXUS Anti Rups® harmless to important beneficial insects such as bees for pollination, insect predators and parasites used to control other insect pests. TOPBUXUS Pheromones and TOPBUXUS Anti Rups® are also not harmful to humans, nature or the environment.

Pheromones store in the refrigerator (2 years shelf life) or freezer (unlimited shelf life).
